Squamish Welcomes You

Posted by
Mooie (Vancouver, Canada) on 13 August 2013 in Lifestyle & Culture and Portfolio.

The Outdoor recreation capital of Canada nearly doubled in size as it hosted a three day music festival last weekend. Four stages with the notorious 700 foot granite cliff face known as the Stawamis Chief as the backdrop, sunny skies..... yeah... you get the idea. :-)

I am not sure how or when, but posting on this blog has become my most accurate platform for creative expression. It's so inspiring to browse through other blogs and every comment is very appreciated!

CElliottUK from Reading, United Kingdom

Looks like a friendly place, and not too full(UK festivals are normally at the 80K-120K people mark)

13 Aug 2013 4:29pm

@CElliottUK: Yes, it was kid friendly and very mellow (for a music festival) only about 16,000. They want to double it next year, but I kind of enjoyed the hippie community feel of it.

Nicou from Sion, Switzerland

Très belle compo nostalgique quelle vue avec ces montagnes en fond.

13 Aug 2013 5:57pm

@Nicou: Merci! Yes, this sums up the experience for me in this photo :-)

Abena from Illinois, United States

Haha I love that!!a couple of weeks ago there was a 3 day one in Chicago, absolutely crazy & loads of people (I didn't go in though :-)). Your shot looks classic, it's something I'd think is pure fun and the mountains behind are great for the eyes...anytime. Great processing too!
