Staring Me Down

Posted by
Mooie (Vancouver, Canada) on 10 June 2013 in Plant & Nature and Portfolio.

" 'Who's gonna love you when I'm gone?'
Said the leaf to the limb
'I'll get over you in a while
Find somebody new in the spring.' "

~ Matt Mays
This is a live version that matched the mood better than the studio version, which is worth listening to. Just that the video didn't fit with the image so...

I am not sure how or when, but posting on this blog has become my most accurate platform for creative expression. It's so inspiring to browse through other blogs and every comment is very appreciated!

CElliottUK from Reading, United Kingdom

A buddy of mine always puts a track with his shots. I asked him which came first. Did he see a shot and then thought of the music, or did he hear some music, and then searched out a shot to illustrate it. He didn't know. How about you?

10 Jun 2013 1:14pm

@CElliottUK: Good question.... the feeling comes first and then often the song, which I will play over while I search for the best photo.... but just as often the image fits the mood and then I'm searching for a song to tie it together.

Abena from Illinois, United States

There's a gorgeous nature feeling here, and an openness that I like, fantastic framing. Feels like the tall trees really are staring me down and I love the feeling. Your lyrics are on point again and my ears say a big yes to the track :-) so thanks for sharing!

@Abena: As usual, I'm really glad you took the time to listen :-) And thanks for your positive feedback!

Seems to be a superb illustration for this song. Plus, it's just a fine composition and neatly toned.
