What Might Have Been

Posted by
Mooie (Vancouver, Canada) on 6 June 2013 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

It's normal to want something you can't have.

"You can always come back
But you can't come back all the way
Only one thing I did wrong..."

~ Bob Dylan

This is the only video of this version of the song, which in my opinion is the best. The kid isn't Bob Dylan, but he's darn pretty good.

I am not sure how or when, but posting on this blog has become my most accurate platform for creative expression. It's so inspiring to browse through other blogs and every comment is very appreciated!

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

I love these Mississppi blue tones, and the blues strumming away in the background (yes, excellent version).

@Curly: Thanks... and I'm really glad I stumbled on to that video

Doug from Burnham-on-Sea, United Kingdom

Beautiful image Mooie and I join with you and Curly that boy plays and sings sublime.
Just a note, honest I'm not a rusty old truck :-))

@Doug: Ha! Should I change the rusty truck's name to Darryl the Dodge? I would do that for ya

Helodie from AVRANCHES, France

Basile Pesso from Barcelona, Spain

Wonderful green path of the water among a superb mood. Your usual framing quality with great breathings, and a superbly melancholic title that makes me think to the stunning song by Whipping Boy : When We were Young.

@Basile Pesso: Wow. Thanks a lot! I will check out that song!

Sue-Ann from Quebec, Canada

Rick from Toronto, Canada

Wonderful green-blues permeating the frame, which I love, and trees in abundance which I love even more. Excellent version of the song! The kid brings it.

@Rick: Thanks... I used a "lens" with a filter :-) Thanks for listening to the tune... at first I was bummed that I couldn't find Bob... but yeah, the kid brings it!

CElliottUK from Reading, United Kingdom

Confused of Reading here. Why would you want this? To my eyes it looks lonely, quiet, bleak, waiting, silent, or am I being schttoooopid?

6 Jun 2013 3:29pm

@CElliottUK: You are not being schtoooopid.... What I want is likely all of those things.... but I still want it. Why? I guess that's the million dollar question. Maybe I'm the schtoooopid one :-)

Steve Rice from Olympia, United States

A beautiful, moody image in blues and greens.

Quelle vue et iamge quel graphisme d'arbre et lumière.

@Nicou: Merci beaucoup!

Abena from Illinois, United States

I agree with what you say, it reminds me of another saying along the lines of you can't miss something you've never had. And in your title I love the nostalgic, melancholic feel. The blues and the silhouettes are perfect, kind of secluded and the whole scene is simply beautiful. It's breathable almost :-) I love the incredibly lazy laid back attitude of the song too, yep he's good!

7 Jun 2013 12:47am

@Abena: Thanks a lot! I took this a while ago and had almost posted it a few times, but it didn't feel like the right time until yesterday :-) Glad you checked out the tune.. .Dylan's version is similar and equally awesome
