The Musician

Posted by
Mooie (Vancouver, Canada) on 5 November 2012 in People & Portrait and Portfolio.

Our front man on the balcony of the hotel. I took another in black and white that I think I'll post later. We had a blast! Had a great night on Friday, but struggled through the sets on Saturday night... hopefully we'll get another crack at it. :-)

I am not sure how or when, but posting on this blog has become my most accurate platform for creative expression. It's so inspiring to browse through other blogs and every comment is very appreciated!

Stephen from Canberra, Australia

Love the gritty and grainy mood - and perfect framing to give this snapshot of life on the road!

5 Nov 2012 6:45am

@Stephen: Thanks! I attribute the elements of this shot to luck as I was very tired and we were nearly falling asleep waiting for pizza to arrive!

A very good musicians-on-tour kinda shot, and some product placement ! Glad you had a good time, too.

5 Nov 2012 12:01pm

@Rick: Haha, thanks! It wasn't a conscious decision, but it worked out I just got the whole sign in.

tataray from france, France

Magnifique montage. Belle Lumière.)

5 Nov 2012 12:55pm

@tataray: Merci!

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

I love the limited light on him, and the street scene below (not sure about the inclusion of the sign though - it demands from me).

5 Nov 2012 1:44pm

@Curly: I like the light on the face, too... but admit to considering taking out the sign... the shot is totally uncropped and since it made it into the original, I left it. I like it... but maybe if it was just a bit of blue.... hmm....

@Mooie : it would have been a problem for the composition, which is very good like this.

6 Nov 2012 9:07am

@Basile Pesso: I guess I will just have to trust you on this one as I didn't take a shot with more street and can't really picture it without seeing it. :-)
