Blue Hue

Posted by
Mooie (Vancouver, Canada) on 8 October 2012 in Cityscape & Urban and Portfolio.

I was tempted to pair this with a super annoying song from the late nineties that topped charts all over the world.... but I refrained. Guesses as to which tune I was thinking?

* Wow, I'm glad I didn't post the song.... it's much more enjoyable to have you all put your own ideas to it... they are all much better anyway!

**Stephen got it right... it was "Blue" by Eiffel 65

I am not sure how or when, but posting on this blog has become my most accurate platform for creative expression. It's so inspiring to browse through other blogs and every comment is very appreciated!

Doug from Burnham-on-Sea, United Kingdom

A nice scene with a blue hue. Sorry but I'm determined not to think of any annoying songs this early in the morning, I'll never get it out of my head :-)

8 Oct 2012 6:38am

@Doug: Thanks! And probably better that you didn't... this one would have stuck and there are not that many words!

Mehdi Monadi from Tehran, Iran

excellent

@Mehdi Monadi: Thank you!

Basile Pesso from City of Aminus, Paris, France

I like !
A song called Ball by a band which I don't have the name in mind ? Or maybe the word ball was in the band name ?
I hope it's not the "song" or so-called from Titanic...please say it isn't so...

8 Oct 2012 8:16am

@Basile Pesso: Thanks! I'm going to google madball and see what comes up. Don't worry, it wasn't the song from Titanic... but it might have been equally annoying :-) Thanks for playing, Basile!

Basile Pesso from City of Aminus, Paris, France

Madball ?

8 Oct 2012 8:55am

@Basile Pesso: Um.... it turns out I am not a Madball fan. :-)

Aubélia from Kortrijk, Belgium

Beautiful colors.

Stephen from Canberra, Australia

Ha! The Blue song - da ba dee! Fabulous shot more futuristic than nineties.

8 Oct 2012 11:14am

@Stephen: Bingo! I wish I had a prize for you :-)

Curly from South Shields, United Kingdom

I love these cool blue notes and the way that the structures make the boat look ever so small.
Cannot help with the song though.

8 Oct 2012 11:43am

@Curly: Thanks... that is Science World and it's pretty cool... the boat is pretty small, but it does get a little dwarfed here!

yalda from Iran, Iran

A nice scene with a cool blue tones.

Rick from Toronto, Canada

Normally I would play along with the cool guess-the-crap song game, but today I'm listening to very good music from a huge iTunes mix that I made for guests last night (currently "Liquid Indian" is playing, from Guided By Voices, and the chorus is sublime)... so please forgive me, sister Canuck, for sticking with this : I love the picture ! I dig those blue tones and your composition. :-)

8 Oct 2012 5:32pm

@Rick: I'll have to check that tune out! Probably a wise decision not to interrupt with thoughts of an annoying and repetitive hit from over a decade ago :-) Thanks for the comment!

SalSa from Tehran, Iran

Very very beautiful shot....bravooo

@SalSa: Thanks a lot!

tataray from france, France

Magnifiques tonalités de bleues .)

La chanson ... :))D

Song sung blue
Everybody knows one
Song sung blue
Every garden grows one

Me and you are subject to the blues now and then
But when you take the blues and make a song
You sing them out again
Sing them out again

Song sung blue
Weeping like a willow
Song sung blue
Sleeping on my pillow

Funny thing, but you can sing it with a cry in your voice
And before you know, start to feeling good
You simply got no choice

Song sung blue
Everybody knows one
Song sung blue
Every garden grows one

8 Oct 2012 6:31pm

@tataray: This is an awesome song! It actually would have worked with the image... nice!

Basile Pesso from City of Aminus, Paris, France

@Rick : Guided by Voices, yeah !

Fantastic photo and blues ... a great waterfront scene; the only song I'm coming up with ... was by Deep Blue Something "Breakfast at Tiffany's"?

Rick from Toronto, Canada

Yeah, don't hesitate :-) ... an album produced by Ric Ocasek called Do The Collapse, which was kind of glossy and alienating to some of their die hard fans, but still has some very good songs. The chorus and harmonies for Liquid Indian = ridiculously sublime.

9 Oct 2012 1:17am

@Rick: It took me a couple of songs to really start grooving to Guided Voices, but I definitely was feelin' it after a while. Thanks!

Rick from Toronto, Canada

P.S. Things I Will Keep, Surgical Focus, Mushroom Art, Optical Hopscotch... all worth a listen and very very good pop art :)

9 Oct 2012 1:25am

@Rick: Things I Will Keep.... that was the song that made me a fan.... I think I liked it better than Liquid Indian.... which was cool but had a totally different feel to the other songs I listened to...... :-)

Nelida De La Fuente from Tres Arroyos, Argentina

Great image of sea with interesting architecture and a boat that stands out traveling the calm waters leaving a trail of foam. Beautiful colors and good light. Have a nice day.
